Dallas White Rock Marathon, Sunday 12/16/08. I paced David for the first 6.75 miles of his first marathon. The weather was warm and WINDY! We kept an 8:25 pace together and the wind was blocked by buildings and trees. I'm glad I was running the half marathon and not running around White Rock Lake. After the split I picked up my pace and soon was averaging 6:38/mile. My last 5k was under 21 minutes and I finished in 1:39:49. I love finishing strong, I passed 88 runners in the last 3 miles. At the post race party David, Rachel and I had a chance meeting with Frank Shorter (1972 olymic marathon gold medalist) and Liza Galvin (2nd place White Rock Marathon). They were great to talk to about running and were interested in our running. That's what makes this a great sport.
